Youth Ministry Coordinator
Description
The MBC Youth Ministry Coordinator support the summer ministry of Muskoka Bible Centre by making a positive and lasting impact on youth through the design and implementation of an excellent Youth Ministry summer program, focused on Bible-centered teaching, engaging activities and transformative relationship experiences for youth ages Grade 7 to Grade 12. Under the leadership of the Program Director: Discipleship, this is an excellent opportunity for new or future youth ministry workers to gain valuable on-the-job experience for faith formation in young people.
Position
- Full-Time, Seasonal Contract (May 1, 2026 - September 1, 2026)

Responsibilities
Program Design
- Using the current MBC resources and outside experience, assist in the program implementation of the Youth Ministry summer program. In future years, Youth Ministry Coordinators will ensure that program stays relevant to current youth trends, local church needs and the MBC youth participants.
- Train the MBC Youth Ministry staff team to implement the program design, including documentation for program implementation (Youth Ministry Manual), contracting with youth workers to teach (if required) and following relevant MBC policies and procedures.
Accountability
- Oversee the programming of the Youth Ministry summer program with the support of the Youth Ministry staff team and with oversight from the Program Director: Discipleship.
- Oversee two age groups of youth ministry: YAC (completed Gr 9-12), RIOT (completed Gr 7-8)
- Managing staff productivity and schedule – university and high school aged students – in coordination with the Youth Ministry Staff.
Staff Care
- Spiritual leadership within the Youth Ministry Department to ensure staff morale and growth occurs in line with the Immerse Student Discipleship Program objectives.
- Foster an environment that allows for the development and growth of Youth Ministry staff in a professional and spiritual capacity – understanding that some of these staff are aiming to move forward as youth ministry professionals in the future and require leadership and development (“they’re not there yet, but they’re on their way”).
- Liaise with Student Discipleship staff to support staff who are not meeting department / discipleship goals.
Administration
- Maintain expenses within approved budget parameters.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant government regulations, the MBC Child and Youth Protection Policy and Staff Handbook policies and procedures, especially as it relates to the student staff community in our care.
- Always ensure safety of staff and guests – including managing risks associated with social media, cell phones, etc.
- Within defined off-season parameters (understanding that an active youth worker is very busy in late August and September), report on the success of the program and offer suggestions for future improvements.
- Manage the temporary shut-down of Youth Ministry email accounts and other program elements until future use.
Qualifications
- Post Secondary Youth Ministry Training
- Experience in leading a team to direct children in outdoor and indoor settings, classroom, church, camp or sports
- An applicant studying at a seminary with a major in Youth Ministry would be an asset, with preference for a youth ministry worker in active service with a local church congregation.
Compensation
$20.00 per hour
